A family of Common Loons glides peacefully across a fog-covered lake. Young chicks often ride on their parents’ backs; the little guy riding on Mom makes a cute addition to this early morning scene.
Family of Loons was another senior thesis picture. The challenge here was the background: Specifically how to simulate a foggy morning with fabric. I experimented with several different options but ultimately settled for hand-dying the material myself. Of the three backgrounds I dyed, this was the best one.
