I sketched this eagle in chalk and charcoal when I was ten. It was my first commission from my very first customer and longest time fan, Mom. She had me sketch it onto a 36” x 24” grey pastel sheet of paper which she then had mounted under a white mat and black frame. The picture hung over her living room sofa for decades and with time the gray paper became brittle and aged to this sepia-toned color. I love the sepia look so much that I decided to carefully disassemble the original frame and take high-res photos of the artwork before it disintegrates altogether. I’m now making prints of this antiqued eagle available for others who want a replica of it for their own homes.
