I have a real soft spot for goats. They are just funny! They never cease to make me smile and laugh.
This fabric illustration was inspired by a vacation in Hawaii where we saw feral goats grazing on just about everything. Though I realize they are responsible for a lot of destruction of the native vegetation on the islands, I find the juxtaposition of the wild goats and human habitation intriguing. While the USDA Forest Service is trying to figure out how to minimize the damage caused by the feral goat population, the Hawaiian residents just roll with it. I felt there was a humorous story in that.
This is the second of my goat/beach themed pieces of art. I created them using bits and pieces of fabric that I heat-bonded to a wooden surface. I painted all the signs with fabric paint.
