It’s always a wild day on Florida’s sunny beaches, but no nudity allowed. This flamingo is part of Florida’s Beach Patrol, protecting the eyes of innocent bystanders while making sure all sunbathers’ bikini tops stay on.
This was another college creation. The idea started as a black-and-white ink drawing in one class, but it practically screamed ”I need color!” So I made some adjustments and created this fabric version in a different class.
I wasn’t happy with my experiments making skin tone, so the girl’s highlights and shadows were painted with Acrylic paint on a solid fabric base. The rest of this picture is my usual style of cut and fused appliqué fabric.
