Goldenrod in bloom in the foggy Great Smoky Mountains. I can honestly say that I have never failed to capture a beautiful image in fog. Like most photographers, I am programmed to hope for beautiful clear conditions with dramatic skies. Fog, however, adds a special mood. Although Grandfather Mountain was ”socked in” for our visit, the goldenrod in full bloom were there to make up for it. The flowers are so vivid against the foggy background they have a 3-D affect when printed.
