The ”worm” moon is rising behind the lighthouse in Jupiter, Florida. The worm moon is the first full moon in March, and is so named because the March thaw brings a new season of earthworms. The shot took a lot of advanced planning in order to get the right angle to capture the moon in relation to the lighthouse, and some luck on the timing of the moonrise at dusk. And in spite of all that, some work was required in the digital darkroom to get the proper balance of light between the background, the moon, and the lighthouse to satisfy my vision for the final result. It is one of my personal favorites.
